JOB SUMMARY

The Security Officer will assist with overseeing all aspects of the facility for RMI International, Inc. and be assigned to work at Glovis America, Inc. in Port Hueneme, California. The Security Officer will report directly to the Shift Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Patrol interior and exterior premises, observe, report, and respond to unusual activity.
• Investigate, evaluate, and report all security, injury/accident incidents to the supervisor.
• Observe any problems with the building(s) and report to the appropriate departments.
• Assist patrons with security-related situations and refer them to the supervisor.
• Enforce Glovis America, Inc. Policies, Rules, and Regulations.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Possession of a valid California Guard Card.
• Completion of Guard Training Program, including how to make a citizen’s arrest, properly handcuff, and transcultural orientation sensitivity training.
• A minimum of 1 year experience using Microsoft Word and Excel software (for report writing).
• A high school diploma or GED equivalency certificate.

• Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check (up to 7 years).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

• Must be able to exert up to fifty pounds of force occasionally, and/or up-to twenty pounds frequently.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, stand, sit, and walk for at least up to 8 hours in a shift. 
• Must be able to climb at least 3 flights of stairs. Must be able to actively respond to emergency and non-emergency-related incidents per 8-hour shift.

SALARY

$20.00 per hour (non-exempt)
